In recent times, the spot price of parrot eucalyptus pulp in China has skyrocketed. As of now, merchants in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai regions have pre-sold 4900 yuan/ton, which is consistent with the highest value in the past three years (the first half of 2013) and still shows an upward trend. It is expected that the price will reach a new high in recent years in the coming months.

it happens that there is a similar case. In mid June, Sappi, the world's largest producer of coated paper, announced that it would significantly increase the price of coated paper in the European market by 8% starting from July 1st due to rising production costs. The coated paper market, which has been experiencing prolonged price declines due to overcapacity and declining demand, has also opened up a channel for price increases.

Various types of paper are raising prices one after another

Since the beginning of this year, the prices of corrugated paper and cardboard in the domestic market have been raised multiple times, driven by papermaking enterprises such as Jiulong Paper Industry and Liwen Paper Co., Ltd.

Industry insiders have stated that due to the rising cost of wood pulp, several companies producing household paper, coated paper, and cultural paper have achieved small price increases in some regions of China to ensure operating profits. As the demand for newsprint continues to decline, the prices are relatively firm due to the lack of new production capacity for many years and the basic adjustment of market structure. At present, the production of white cardboard and paperboard is the most difficult for enterprises to operate. In the face of severe overcapacity, high inventory, insufficient operating rates, rising upstream wood pulp prices, no improvement in downstream demand, and the continuous release of new production capacity, the production of white cardboard and paperboard will continue to suffer for a long time.
